Preparation For Tomorrow

This album has been out for a very long time but I have only just discovered it recently. Electronic trio Seekae are probably not a band on many iTunes but after being recommended them their album “The Sound of Trees Falling on People” is climbing my most played count.
What I don’t believe is that these tracks are put together by a few kids in Sydney when the album itself feels so mature. This album is the perfect backdrop to a Sunday afternoon which is why I’m showing you now so you can be prepared for tomorrow.
Many of the tracks show Seekae’s expertise in building a somewhat ambient song. Take Crooks for example, it begins simply and keeps adding layers which escalate to a great crescendo about two thirds of the way through. To me, the tracks are very reminiscent of The Postal Service with glitches and often unusual timings and it works even without the vocals however vocals are used in the track Wool to great effect.
The highlight of the album for me is the epic 9 minute soundscape created in John Duncan which features a seemingly never ending opening and a climax of drums and guitar feedback. Listen to their opening track Yurai and watch the video for their track Void below which is pretty incredible.
Their full album is available from the iTunes Store
